Covid-19 & The Richest People On Earth. People think coronavirus has spared the wealthiest persons in the world, but don’t think the way. 

They are not immune to the COVID-19—this way or another; it has hit them all. May not be physical, but economically they have been affected. 

As the pandemic grows up, it tightened its grip and imploded global markets. It was thus tanking many fortunes. 

According to Forbes List of New Richest Persons of this Year.

As on March 19, Forbes collected the list of 2,095 billionaires. When they initially counted the net worth, the visibility clearer that they 51% lower down in the list than they were last year. Roughly, the world’s billionaires are worth $8 trillion and are down by $700 billion from 2019.

However, some businessmen remain in their seats as the world’s richest. The first one is Jeff Bezos. He remained as the world’s wealthiest person for the third year in a row. However, he had paid $36 billion worth of his Amazon stock to his ex-wife MacKenzie Bezos after the settlement of their divorce last summer. His worth is over $200 billion now, buoyed by a  rise in Amazon’s shares since our 2019 list. The e-commerce giant was in the spotlight amid the pandemic. Amazon was hiring 100,000 full- and part-time workers to meet the increasing demand of consumers while staying home and shopping online.

After Bezos, on number 2, comes the business giant, Bill Gates

Bill Gates comes on the spot as number two richest. After here comes the long list. Bill Gates was followed by luxury goods tycoon Bernard Arnault, who ruled out Warren Buffett to move into the number three richest man’s list for the first time. 

The heir to the Walmart fortune, Alice Walton, is the richest woman, ranked No.9 at $54.4 billion. 

Women come with men on the list of the richest personalities. Here come 241 women, including 7, who share their fortune with a spouse, sibling, or child.

The biggest gain in dollar terms is Qin Yinglin, who is the global pig breeder. He’s ranked No. 43 and is worth $18.5 billion—a $14.2 billion jump since 2019.  

Where COVID-19 has haltered some businesses, there are some who gained the profit. One of them is an emerging businessman, Eric Yuan, the founder and CEO of Zoom Video Communications

However, the U.S. maintained its position as the country with having 614 most billionaires, followed by China with 456 richest persons.
